Surprise, surprise…the suns out! 😆 So, with my shoulder niggle, current focus is clear: structured shoulder prep, quality activation and controlled scapular movement before anything else. Pressing is temporarily out….not removed, just reintroduced when it’s earned. Well-selected exercises, executed properly. Pulling is pain-free, so we’re loading it with intent and progressing where we can. This is what smart training looks like: Work around the issue, not through it. Build capacity where it’s available. Stay consistent. Short-term adjustment. Long-term progress.

Bank holiday Sunday and…..it’s raining 🌧️ Of course it is! 😆 Might not be BBQ weather…but it’s perfect conditions to get stuck into the work while everyone else is waiting for the sun. Glute-focused leg day in full effect: • B-stance trap bar work. Great way to load up each side without testing the balance too much. Front leg does the work, back foot is just a kickstand. • Glute-biased Bulgarian split squats. Slight forward torso lean, try keep the knee over the ankle and sit into the hip and feel that stretch at the bottom before driving up hard. Stay consistent. Rain or shine. 💪🏼

[Short] Leg day with @lukenutritionandperformance before lunch. Although been equally vertically challenged he makes me look like I’ve been skipping leg day since….forever He put me through some solid work…plyos, movement, and a few bits that definitely humbled me. Its was great trying something different. He’s proof that you don’t need long levers to move well… just a decent engine and the right type of training. Keep an eye on my story for the blooper… it’s worth it 🫣

Right…I really didn’t want to post this 😅 Partly because I’m a bit self-conscious…and partly because I can already hear the voice in my head saying “you don’t even look good” 🙃 But, here we are…10kg down! Honestly, this wasn’t something I even wanted to do at first. I was quite happy…eating reasonably well, focusing on protein, getting stronger in the gym and just enjoying training. But…as a bit of a “practice what I preach” moment (and maybe to look slightly more like I know what I’m talking about 😅), I thought I’d see if I could get a bit leaner. For context… I’m only 5’6”, I don’t have amazing genetics for building muscle, and I’m definitely not one of those people who just put on muscle by looking at a dumbbell. So this has been very much a case of: 👉 Setting a realistic and achievable calorie goal. 👉 Tracking everything, almost every day. 👉 Resistance training 4–5 times a week at XFIT 👉 Getting to martial arts when I can 👉 Walking more where possible And let me be clear… The training? I absolutely love it! The diet/hunger? Not my favourite 🫠 Some days are easier…Some days you’re eyeing up the fridge wondering if you can justify a third snack in 20 minutes 👀 But the biggest thing…Consistency. Not perfection, Not “starting again Monday.” Just stringing together enough on-target days….That’s where the magic happens. And if you manage to stay on track over a weekend? Elite behaviour….Bonus points awarded. And…after the reluctance to do it in the first place, I’m really glad I did…I’m happy with the results. If you’re trying to lose fat and feeling a bit stuck, overwhelmed, or just fed up of guessing…drop me a message. I’ll help you make it simple, realistic, and actually doable 👍

The sun was out and the beer garden was calling but it wasn’t enough to keep @laurawhawkridge (Quadzilla) and @jamieleannebawtry from a solid full body workout tonight at Yorks finest gym @xfitgymsyork. Both top complainers but it’s always great to have them in. Featuring @lukenutritionandperformance shouting encouragement from the side lines!

I think Issac has been training for almost as long as I have, he started at a similar time to Jasmine. It’s been awesome watching his journey! I had the pleasure of having him in for a few private lessons in preparation for his black belt test earlier this year. He’s got wicked technique and a great work ethic…there wasn’t any doubt he wouldn’t pass! His mum, who also trains at @xmaschools said; ‘Simon’s PT’s are fantastic. He helped my son Isaac prep for his recent black belt test. He got in touch with us first to see what Isaac wanted to work on and if he had any injuries and based the PT around that. Most importantly he makes the PT’s fun as well as specific so you get the most out of them 💚👊🖤’ Keep going Issac! 👊🏼
